para onde o sol não luz

Para onde o sol não luz, or, where the sun does not shine, is a sentence drawn from The Divine Comedy that eludes to a descent into the depths of the human soul, where light is no longer presence but the lingering memory of what was lost. In this photographic project, the title becomes a metaphor for a time in which the individual, confronted by the overstimulation of the digital world and the emergence of artificial intelligence, becomes fragmented — intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.

The narrative unfolds within a domestic space where staged characters inhabit a familiar yet unrecognizable ecosystem. These figures, immersed in their own interiority, seem to drift in a state of passive alienation — unaware of themselves, of others, and of the very place they inhabit. They are echoes of a time where gestures, affections, and shared presence was the norm, when now it all feels somewhat disconnected, and materiality has been replaced by surfaces, algorithms, and hyper-connectivity.
